![]() ![]() Antibacterial Hand Gel – Please can you ensure your child has their own hand gel in their bags in case needed.All staff have their outdoor first aid certificate and are qualified to administer medication if needed Emergency Medication – if your child has a medical condition which requires special medical intervention such as an asthma inhaler or epipen please provide this in your child’s bag and alert the forest school leader to this on arrival.You will be advised on any specific allergies for your group. Please make sure you avoid snacks with nuts in them for the safety of the group – snacks won’t be shared with other children but some more serious allergies can be airborne. so they can have a rest and refuel midway through the session. ![]() Healthy Snack– please provide your child with a healthy snack such as a piece of fruit & a health bar etc.Water – Please make sure your child brings a bottle of water with them to session so they can stay hydrated across all seasons - we play lots of games and they use lots of energy exploring and are often in need of a quick drink.Please bring a bag for your child with the following items in We actively encourage children to take part in looking after our site so the more cover they have the better to keep them safe Please make sure your child has a long sleeved top– whatever the weather your child will need a long sleeved top for some activities as a protective layer such as climbing trees, and for fire and tools.Please put your child in clothes you don’t mind getting messy– we never recommend your child comes in their favourite outfit or expensive clothing and whilst we will do our best to protect clothing where we can children explore and engage in spontaneous activities climbing, sliding and exploring in lots of different terrain and we wont stop natural play where the benefits are so much greater then worrying about the mess.Please provide your child with waterproofs– whatever the weather we always recommend having a waterproof jacket and trousers or an all-in-one in their bag so we are prepared for all eventualities – if the weather changes they will need to keep dry/ the ground can often be damp even in nicer weather and we do love a bit of water play and mud sliding in forest school.We recommend wearing lots of layers as they trap the heat and enable children to regulate their temperature by removing or adding a layer. Please provide weather appropriate clothing– we go out in ALL weathers unless a storm is brewing so be prepared - if it’s a hot day make sure you have applied sun cream and they have a sun hat with them, if it’s a cold day then make sure they have hats, gloves and scarves to keep them warm and thermals underneath.Please make sure your child is wearing walking boots or wellingtons with a good tread on them– this enables them to move safely around our environment with a steady footing for exploring and climbing and protects their feet from injury from sticking out bits of wood or other natural materials. ![]()
